Preparing the Championships...Taekwondo Values for Climate Action
On October 9, 2025, Kenya Taekwondo Federation (KTF) President Major (Rtd.) Suleiman Sumba planted a tree alongside members of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to mark Mazingira Day and launch the #KenyaYetuMsituWetu tree-planting initiative.
The initiative, part of preparations for the World Under-21 Taekwondo Championships 2025, emphasizes the federation’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Notable attendees included Kevin Kiarie, Legal Advisor at the Ministry of Sports, and Ms. Juliana Murugi from the Department of Sports.
This event symbolizes the integration of sport and climate action, aligning with the tournament’s theme — “Taekwondo Values for Climate Action.”
